SLAMC REGIMENTAL CENTRE MARKS ITS 30TH ANNIVERSARY

The Sri Lanka Army Medical Corp celebrated its 30th anniversary on 15th January 2020 at the Regimental Headquarters Werahara.

A guard turnout and a Ceremonial Parade were accorded to the Director General Army Health Services and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps Maj Gen SH Munasinghe RWP RSP VSV USP, at the Regimental Headquarters. The Colonel Commandant was received by the Centre Commandant Brig DG Hewage RSP. During the Ceremonial Parade, the Colonel Commandant addressed the gathering and extended his gratitude for the commitment by Officers and ORs’ for the uplifting the standard of the Medical Corps. The Ceremonial Parade was commanded by Lt Col Arosh Peiris. After the Parade Colonel Commandant planted a Mango sapling in the premises of the Headquarters which was followed by an all Ranks tea.

Thereafter, Colonel Commandant declared open the newly constructed 2 Storied accommodation and Auditorium building by splitting the symbolic ribbon apart. In line with the ceremonial opening SLAMC Seva Vanitha Branch organized a Scholarship awarding ceremony for Sons and Daughters of deceased /Living soldiers and students selected for Universities. SLAMC Seva Vanitha Branch members organized the event with the guidance of the President of Seva Vanitha Branch Brigadier DTN Munasinghe USP. The scholarship was presented by the Col Comdt and President of the Seva Vanitha Branch. The morning event was concluded with the All Ranks lunch at the OR’s Mess.
