RHQ SLAMC became the first runner-up in the Inter Regiment Chess Tournament held at the Signals Regimental Auditorium Panagoda on 05 January 2018. The Tournament was held from 02 to 05 January and 19 Regiments competed in the Tournament. The final of the Tournament was held between RHQ SLSC and RHQ SLAMC and the RHQ SLAMC ended up in as the first runner-up in the Tournament.
The prize giving of the Tournament was held at the Defence Services College Colombo on 05 January 2018. Chief of Staff of The Sri Lanka Army Maj Gen KADA Karunasekara RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc graced the event as the Chief Guest together with Senior Officers, Officers and other Ranks.
