As per the direction given by the Army Headquarters Officers Training day for the 3rd quarter of the year 2019 was held on 19 September 2019 at the Regimental Headquarters Werahara under the supervision and guidance of the Colonel Commandant Maj Gen SH Munasinghe RWP RSP VSV USP and Centre Commandant Brig DG Hewage RSP with the participation of over 90 Officers including Directors, Deputy Directors, Consultants and Senior Officers.
The day program commenced with morning PT session followed by personnel drill and sword drill for Officers, Thereafter, Colonel Commandant of SLAMC made his opening remarks of the Officers Training day, followed by the presentation of “Training, Development & Career Progression of Military Officers” by Colonel BMJ Balasooriya RWP RSP psc – Col QMG AHQ.
Second session was started with the “Army Traditions, Customs and Mess Etiquette” by Brigadier MP Karunaratne IG - Commander Artillery Brigade. The evening session commenced with the recreation by all Officers playing Cricket, Volleyball and Badminton concluding a successful Officers Training Day. Days procedings concluded with the Dinner at the Officers Mess coupled with a felicitation ceremony to Retired Senior Medical Officers.
