Maj Gen SH Munasinghe RWP RSP VSV USP was accorded with the Ceremonial Parade at the Regimental Centre on 30 June 2023 in respect of his over 36 years of invaluable service to the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps. He is due to retire from the Sri Lanka Army on 01 July 2023.
Maj Gen SH Munasinghe enlisted to the Sri Lanka Army on 26 June 1986, and commissioned as a Captain and joined the Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps and served over 36 years of untarnished service in his career in the Army. He was the first medical officer who has actively participated many operations including Wadamarachchi Operation with his medical team. Except that he has served in many part of the country and holds many prestigious appointments including Secratory to the Ministry of Health.
Maj Gen SH Munasinghe RWP RSP VSVS USP was warmly welcomed by the Colonel Commandant Maj Gen PAC Fernando USP on his arrival to the Corps Headquarters. He inspected the guard turnout and thereafter, he was accorded with the Ceremonial Parade at the Regimental Headquarters pared ground. Then Regimental Sergeant Major invited the outgoing Senior Officer for the tea organized by the all ranks. After having the tea, the street linings consist of All Officers and Other Ranks greeted as "Jaya Sri" for the retiring Maj Gen SH Munasinghe RWP RSP VSV USP.
In the evening, Dinner Night Hosted to Mrs DTN Munasinghe and Maj Gen SH Munasinghe RWP RSP VSVS USP at the Officers’ Mess with a large gathering of Officers including Colonel Commandant Maj Gen PAC Fernando USP, The Colonel Commandant presented a memento to Maj Gen SH Munasinghe RWP RSP VSVS USP for the valuable service rendered to the Sri lanka Army Medical Corps.
