BRIGADIER TJ LIYANAARACHCHI PROMOTED TO THE RANK OF MAJOR GENERAL

Maj Gen TJ Liyanaarachchi was accorded with the Guard of Honour at the Regimental Centre on 28 October 2018 in respect of his promotion to the rank of Major General.He is due to retire from the Sri Lanka Army on 29 October 2018

Maj Gen T J Liyanaarachchi enlisted to the Sri Lanka Army on 01 November 1982, and commissioned as a Captain and joined the Sri Lanka Army Medical corpsand served over 36 years of unblemished service in his career in the Army. He has served in many part of the country as a Dental Officer and holds the appointment as a Director of Army Medical Procurement Services before his retirement.

Maj Gen TJ Liyanaarachchiwas warmly welcomed by the Centre Commandant Brig WMJRK Senaratne RWP RSP on his arrival to the Corps Headquarters. He inspected the guard turn out and thereafter, he was accorded with the Guard of Honour at the Parade Square. After the Parade, Maj Gen Liyanaarachchi planted a Mango sapling in the premises of the Corps Headquarters building. WO I SJMK Senavirathne, RSM RHQ SLAMC invited the Senior Offrs for the tea organized by WOs' and Sgts' Mess. After having the Officer’s mess lunch, the street linings consist of All Officers and Other Ranks greeted as "Jaya Sri" for the retiring Maj Gen T J Liyanaarachchi.
