THE 8th CONTINGENT OF SRI LANKA ARMY MEDICAL CORPS FOR UNIMISS SALUTES ARMY CHIEF

The 8th contingent of Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps troops consists of 16 Officers and 50 other ranks presented their honour to the Chief of Defence Staff & Commander of the Army General L H S C SILVA WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc Mphil at a ceremonial parade held at Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps Regimental Centre parade square Werahara, Boralasgamuwa on 24th December 2021.

The chief guest was welcomed by the Brigadier T M Hettiarachchi RSP the Centre Commandant SLAMC at the entrance and accompanied to the guard of honour. Brigadier P A C Fernando USP the Director General Army Health Services and Colonel Commandant SLAMC accompanied the Chief guest to the parade square.

The ceremonial parade to the Chief of Defence Staff and Commader of the Army was commanded by Major D Y S Kumara the second in command of 8th contingent.

The 8th South Sudan bound Level 2 Hospital, commands by Lieutenant Colonel N M Niflar is consist of 66 personnel including 4 Consultants 5 Medical Officers, one Dental Officer, 7 Officers 40 SLAMC other ranks and representatives from Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Corps of Engineer Service, Sri Lanka Army Service Corps and Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers respectively.

The Sri Lanka Army Chief of Staff Major General H L V M Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Deputy Chief Of Staff Major General T J Kodithuwakku RWP RSP ndu, Commandant Volunteer Force Major General C D Weerasuriya RWP RSP ndu, Principle Staff Officers, Directors,Colonel Commandants and Centre Commandants of Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Corps of Engineer Service, Sri Lanka Army Service Corps and Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, senior officers and other ranks were also presented at the occasion.
