Due to the prevailing situation in the country the Security Forces provide security for the protection of the schools, school children and the staff since the commencement of second semester. Therefore, 65 Division took necessary precautionary measures to provide security and protection for 43 Schools and nearly 8000 students in the area as directed by SFHQ (KLN).
A collective security coordinating measures were organised to meet the security needs of the schools and the students thus arranging parents and school staff meeting with the 65 Division Staff Officers, Brigade and Battalion Commanders, Civil Police and Civil Defence Force personal. Further, General Officer Commanding 65 Division, Major General KAW Kumarapperuma USP also attended school meetings to educate the school children and the staff of the present security system provided by the Army in Area of responsibility of 65 Division.
It is also important to note that the highest level of cooperation and understanding extended by parents, school children and the staff was instrumental in making this endeavour a success.
