ASSUMES DUTIES AS GOC 65 DIVISION

Brigadier D M H D Bandara RWP RSP USP assumed office as 11th General Officer Commanding of the 65 Division on 18th January 2020.

65 Division troops presented a Guard Turnout at the main entrance and the troops awarded a parade accordance with military formalities to their newly appointed GOC.

The newly appointed General Officer Commanding planted a sapling in the Division Headquarters premises. Then, he signed an official document and symbolized the acceptance of the new appointment amid religious observances.

Thereafter, he addressed a cross section of the troops performing duties in the 65 Division before he joined an all rank tea.

Brigade Commanders, staff officers of the Division and Commanding Officers were present at the event.

On 20th January 2020, the General Officer Commanding of the 65 Division paid a courtesy call on the Commander, Security Force, Kilinochchi, Major General H M J K Gunaratne WWV RWP RSP ndc psc, after taking over duties as the General Officer Commanding of the 65 Division at the Security Force HQ-KLN.
