A Tamil Language workshop, aimed at enhancing Tamil proficiency and measuring the improvement of Tamil speaking ability among military personnel of the 66 Division who followed the basic Tamil language courses which were conducted by Battalion Training School -66 Division got underway at BTS - 66 DIV on 3rd Jan 2020 under the guidance of Major General Mangala Wijesundara, General Officer Commanding, 66 Division.
34 Students of 3, two-week long courses were participated to the workshop at the Battalion Training School in Arasapurakulam under the supervision of Colonel Subashana Liyanagama, Commander 663 Infantry Brigade. Students were asked to perform on various areas and various situations aiming to measure their Tamil language proficiency. Dramas and songs were also performed by the students to show their skills. Tamil language instructors of 4 MIC and 4 SLAWC were present in the workshop to impart the knowledge to students on practical usage of the Language. At the end of the workshop it was revealed that this will help students to maintain civil-military relations in a better manner.
