TWO WAR VETERANS REACH ELEPHANT PASS DURING THEIR PILGRIMAGE FROM NAGADEEPAYA TO KATARAGAMA.

With the sheer intention of showcasing their spirited morale, bravery and courage of two disabled War Heroes who sacrificed their limbs for defense of the Motherland made a visit to Naga Deepa. Two retired veterans, Private (Retd) R.W.V Piyathissa of 2nd Battalion Gajaba Regiment of the Sri Lanka Army and the Chief Petty Officer (Retd) M.B.W Kumara of the Sri Lanka Navy jointly organized a pilgrimage on foot to Kataragama from Nagadeepa temple in the Jaffna peninsula on 22 Nov 19.

They reached Elephant pass on 24th afternoon and were warmly welcomed by the 66 Division troops. After reaching they paid tribute to the Gamini Kularathna memorial monument in Elephant pass. The event was organized with the guidance of Comd SF HQ KLN and GOC 66 Division to encourage the effort of two soldiers and to wish them good luck till they reach their destination.
