The 70th Army day Anniversary celebration commenced with the hoisting of the Army flag and recital of the Army song with the participation of all Officers and Other Ranks of Security Force Headquarters Kilinochchi and followed by two minutes silence in honour of the memory of fallen and missing war heroes. Later read the Army Commander’s 70th Anniversary speech for all troops’ accordance with the military traditions.
Parallel to the Army day programme Security Force Headquarters Kilinochchi organized a blood donation campaign and Sramadana campaign on 10 October 2019 under the guidance of Commander Security Force Headquarters Kilinochchi Major General G V Ravipriya WWV RWP ndu IG.
A medical team comprising 03 doctors and other staff of Blood Bank in General Hospital Polonnaruwa contributed their immense support to make the blood donation campaign a success and over 250 military personals from Security Forces Kilinochchi donated blood during the event.
Subsequently, sramadana campaign also held at the General Hospital premises in Kilinochchi in order to renovation of the iron beds, electrical appliances and clean the surround of the patient’s wards. The Commander Forward Maintenance Area Kilinochchi, Major General A D Alwaththa, Senior Officers Officers and Other Ranks participated for the event with the civil staff of the Hospital.
