66 Infantry Division troops provided security in corporation with Police and CSD for the Annual Feast of St. Sebastian Church Manniththalai from 20 to 25 Aug 2019. Approximately 3000 devotees attended the mass and much needed security and water facility were provided by the Army throughout the event.
Commander 661 Brigade, Colonel Madura Wickramaratne carried out all possible security measures under the guidance and supervision of Brigadier Mangala Wijesundara, the General Officer Commanding, 66 Infantry Division. Troops of 24 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment along with 15 Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment, 5 Mechanized Infantry Regiment and 2 Sri Lanka National Guard committed for the security of the premises and devotees.
The religious Heads as well as the Government authorities highly commended the military assistance during the event.
