DISTRIBUTION OF SCHOOL ACCESSORIES

As per the guidance of General Officer Commanding of 57 Division Brigadier A S Hewawitharana RSP USP ndc IG, 574 Brigade organized a programme for distributing schools accessories for needy students in the area of responsibility on 23 July 2019 at Mankulam Maha Vidyalaya. This was aimed to promote the educational achievements among students in low income families and enhance the relationship between civilians and the Army.

Parcels consisted of school accessories such as shoes, books, pens, pencils and etc. were distributed among 160 students of 6 schools as follows:

a. Mankulam Maha Vidyalaya - 27 Students

b. Olumadu Tamil School - 25 Students

c. Shammugarathnam Junior School - 47 Students

d. Pannikkamkulam Junior School - 30 Students

e. Ampakamm Junior School - 60 Students

f. Pulimuchchanadakulam Primary school - 15 Students

General Officer Commanding 57 Division, Commander 574 Brigades, Colonel General Staff - 57 Division, Battalion Commanders and Assistance Zonal Education Director - Thunukkai Education Zone, Principals of the schools, students, teachers and parents participated for the event. The sponsorship for the donations distributed were extended by 57 Division.
