Intending to further enhance the tracking capabilities of SIOT teams, the 66 Division conducted a training programme on ‘Combat Tracking Operations’ for seven SIOT Eight Man Teams selected from its under command Battalions. The programme was conducted from 22 June 2019 to 25 June 2019 at the Battalion Training School - Arasapurakulam.
Mr Jerom Keil, Specialist and well experienced instructor on tracking and twenty three tracking instructors from Commando Regiment Special Warfare Training School – Wedithalathive provided the lecture assistance and practical guidance to the participants.
In future, those trainees are expected to provide necessary guidelines and instructions to other troops in their respective Battalions on Combat Tracking, which will be an essential skill in jungle operations.
