NEWLY APPOINTED GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING - 66 INFANTRY DIVISION ASSUMED DUTIES AT HIS OFFICE

The newly-appointed General Officer Commanding - 66 Infantry Division, Brigadier MD Wijesundara RSP assumed duties as the 7th General Officer Commanding of the 66 Infantry Division which is deployed under the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi on Friday, 18 January 2019.

A formal Guard Turn Out and a Parade were presented to new General Officer Commanding, upon his arrival at the Headquarters 66 Infantry Division premises - Poonaryn in keeping with military traditions.

Afterwards, amid religious blessings he left his signature for an official document and symbolized the acceptance of his new office. Later, a mango sapling was planted in the camp premises to signify the occasion and later All Ranks tea party was held to celebrate the event.

All under command Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, Divisional Staff Officers, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks of 66 Division participated in the event.
