KILINOCHCHI TROOPS EDUCATED ON CYBER CRIMES AND SECURITY

Directorate of Information Technology has taken many measures to curb cyber crimes in Sri Lanka. In order to educate troops in Kilinochchi; an awareness programme on cybercrimes was held at Nelumpiyasa auditorium on 20 March 2018 under the directions of Commander of the Army.

The main objective of this programme was to educate soldiers on rational usage of social media/internet and how best to avoid being vulnerable against malicious and deleterious activities inherent with the internet and smart phone usage.

Twenty five Officers and 950 Other Ranks participated for the event. Colonel Information Colonel Nalin Jayaratne of Directorate of Information Technology delivered the lecture on "Actions to be taken to protect soldiers from cybercrimes".
