JAYANTHI AND JOHANN SHARE THEIR EXPERIENCE WITH THE LECTURE ON ‘CLIMBING OUR OWN EVEREST’

Ms. Jayanthi Kuru-Utumpala and Mr. Johann Peiris shared their experiences of ‘Reaching the Summit Mt. Everest’ with troops of Security Forces Kilinochchi. Ms. Kuru-Utumpala is the very first Asian women and first Sri Lankan women to summit Mt. Everest.

A one-hour session was held at the Security Forces Headquarters Auditorium for the Officers and another one hour session held at the Nelumpiyasa Auditorium for Other Ranks on 23 February 2018. This inspirational lecture, programme and discussion was given an opportunity for officers and soldiers to discover new ideas beyond the duty.

This programme has organized as per the direction of Commander of Security Forces Kilinochchi Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana. 150 Officers and 670 Other Ranks participated for this programme. At the end of the session Brigadier general staff- Security Forces Headquarters - Kilinochchi, Brigadier Jagath Rathnayaka presented a memento to Ms. Jayanthi Kuru-Utumpala and Mr. Johann Peiris as a gesture of appreciation.
