DONATION OF SCHOOL ACCESSORIES TO NEEDY STUDENTS IN KILINOCHCHI
With the intention of enhancing the reconciliation programme in the Poonaryn area, Donation of school items for needy children was organized by 15 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment with the blessings of Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana USP ndc, Commander Security Forces - Kilinochchi and supervision of General Officer Commanding - 66 Division Major General Duminda Keppetiwalana RSP ndu psc, The said charity programme was launched as another community welfare project under the Civil-Military Coordination (CIMIC) programme of 66 Infantry Division – Poonaryn on Friday, 17 November 2017. \r\n\r\nMajor Chaminda Gunarathne, Commanding Officer 15(V) Vijayaba Infantry Regiment has organized the event with the support of the Chief Incumbent of Boralasgamuwa Parama Dhamma Temple, Reverend Sirirathne Thero and sponsors from Boralasgamuwa area. \r\n\r\n50 students from the Central College - Poonaryn, Government Tamil Mixed School - Paramankirai, Government Tamil Mixed School - Gnanimadam, and Government Tamil Mixed School - Vinayasiyodai were benefitted with school accessories, stationery items and school bags which valued more than Rs. 125,000/=. Troops of 15 (V) Vijayaba Infantry Regiment devotedly attended for organizing of the event which was held at Government Tamil Mixed School – Paramankirai as a simple ceremony. The event was graced by the Commander 661 Brigade, Colonel Priyantha Jayawardena as the chief guest.
