One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, it spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. Its celebration includes millions of lights shining on housetops, outside doors and around temples. The 57 Division has organized series of events for Deepawali celebration. Initially ‘Sramadana Campaigns’ were conducted to make the surroundings suit for this colourful religious festival by Division, Brigade, and Battalion Headquarters at Hindu temples which located within their respective area of responsibility. As per the direction given by General Officer Commanding 57 Division Major General HJS Gunawardena RSP USP ndc psc, Deepawali poojas were conducted at same Hindu temple by respective headquarters. \r\n\r\n\r\n57 Division headquarters, Under Command Brigades and all battalions have organized special Poojas for Deepavali festival. Headquarters 57 Division has organized two poojas at Kilinochchi Kanan Kovil on morning and Kilinochch Kandasami Kovil in evening . Headquarters 571,572,573 and 574 Brigades organized Deepavali festival pooja at Kilinochchi Gana Divi Kovil, Viswamadu Mari Amman Kovil, Kandawali PaththamottiMurugan Kovil and Mankulam Ganapathi Kovil. The under command battalions of 57 Division also organized separate Deepavali festival poojas at, Minachchi Amman Kovil by 7 SLLI, Korakkan kaddu Pullayar Kovil by 1SLSR, Murukkandi Kovil by 4 SLSR, ThottiadiSithi Vinayagar Kovil by 6 SLSR ,Malayalapurm Paththini Amman Kovil by 9 VIR, Thiruvaiaru Pullayar Kovil by 16 (V)SLLI, Barathipuram Amman Kovil by 17 (V) GR , Mayawanur Kannan Kovil by 6 SLNG and Mailawanapuram Mutthumari Amman Kovil by 14 SLNG.\r\n
