SECURITY FORCES KILINOCHCHI LAUNCHES AWARENESS ON DRUG PREVENTION
Security Forces Headquarters - Kilinochchi organized a one more session of Drug Prevention workshop for military personnel in Kilinochchi area on 02, 03 and 04 October 2017. This programme has been organized in line with the National Drug Prevention Programme which is island-wide launched under the directive of H.E. the President Maithripala Sirisena with the theme of Drug Free Country.\r\n\r\nFirst Session of the awareness programme was held at Nelumpiyasa auditorium on 02 and 03 October with the participation of 1200 troops from 57, 66 Divisions, Forward Maintenance Area - Kilinochchi and affiliated battalions of Security Forces Headquarters - Kilinochchi. 500 military personnel were participated for the second session which was conducted by 65 Division Headquarters on 04 October 2017.\r\n\r\nLecture assistance to the programme was provided by Mr Suchintha Dasun and Mr. Supun Udana from National Dangerous Drug Control Board (NDDCB) with the coordination of the Directorate of Psychological Operations. During the programme lecturers briefed that the NDDCB promotes treatment methodologies and rehabilitation activities as well as conducting field work, workshops and maintenance of database and planning to build up a social atmosphere to urge each and every drug user to get themselves free from drugs.\r\n
