Troops of the Security Forces - Kilinochchi contributed to the ongoing National Dengue prevention campaign on 17 August 2017 covering public places in the Kilinochchi region was carried out as a precautionary measure to curb the spread of Dengue in the city and its suburbs with the directions and supervision of Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, Commander Security Forces - Kilinochchi.\r\n\r\nTroops serving under 57, 65 and 66 Divisions conducted the programme with the assistance of Medical Officers and Public Health Inspectors (PHI) in the area. \r\n\r\nAround 700 military personnel and 150 civilians were engaged in several areas, including Kilinochchi town, Poonaryn, Mallavi,Mulankvil, Nachchikuda, Visuamadu and Kandaveli for control this deadly epidemic.\r\n\r\nWith the current rainy weather there is a high risk of spreading Dengue in the area .The programme was carried out to prevent an outbreak of this disease.
