SECURITY FORCES KILINOCHCHI INITIATES FREE DISTRIBUTION OF SPECTACLES TO CIVILIANS
Security Forces – Kilinochchi continued its public welfare projects for the needy people in Kilinochchi by supplying free spectacles during a brief ceremony on 12 August 2017 at the Nelum Piyasa Auditorium, Kilinochchi. \r\n\r\nThe Donation programme was sponsored by the Vision Care Optical services – Colombo, Coordinating assistance was given to the project by the 65 Division under the supervision of Major General Sarath Weerawardena, General Officer Commanding - 65 Division.\r\n\r\nDuring the programme, 200 selected people with poor vision were offered spectacles after they were examined for vision on an earlier occasion held on 04 July 2017. To symbolize the distribution, 40 pairs of eye spectacles were distributed during the brief ceremony before the complete distribution.\r\n\r\nMajor General Ajith Kariyakarawana Commander Security Forces – Kilinochchi graced occasion as the Chief Guest to the inaugural occasion of the programme. Major General Bimal Vidanage Forward Maintenance Area – Kilinochchi, Major General Jagath Gunawardena General Officer Commanding - 57 Division, Mr. Krishantha Zoyza and members from Vision Care Optical services, senior officers and large no of civilians attended the event.
