KILINOCHCHI TROOPS CONTINUE YOGA TRAINING PRACTICES

With the sole intention of promoting mental, spiritual and physical growth among Army personnel, the Security Forces - Kilinochchi recently introduced a Yoga Training workshop for military personnel as per the direction and coordination of Brigadier D C Keppetiwalana RSP ndu psc General Officer Commanding – 66 Division.\r\n\r\nAs part of this training programme, a reputed personality on the subject of Yoga Art, Lecturer Leelananda Wickramarachchi has conducted two special workshop on Yoga for the troops in Kilinochchi area with the invitation of General Officer Commanding – 66 Division. Presently Lecturer Leelananda Wickramarachchi is serving as the Yoga instructor of University of Kelaniya and Wickramarachchi Ayurvedic Institution in Yakkala. \r\n\r\nThe training programme for the troops in 66 Division AOR was conducted from 1000 hrs to 1300 hrs on 21 April 2017 at the Battalion Training School – Arasapurakulam with the participation of 10 Officers and 311 Other Ranks. The second session for the troops of Security Forces Headquarters- Kilinochchi, 57 & 65 Division and Forward Maintenance Area – Kilinochchi was conducted from 1000 hrs to 1200 hrs on 24 April 2017 with the participation of 24 Officers and 275 Other Ranks.\r\n\r\nBoth sessions were based on the theme of “Rhythm of Nature and Yoga”, “Meditation of Yoga”, “Worship to God of Sun”, “Dyana Yoga”, “Surya Chandra Namaskaraya” and “Yogasana”, “Hana Yoga Wiwaranaya”. All the participantys were benefitted with the teaching and practical sessions conducted through the workshop series to enhance their knowledge on Yoga art and civil lives.\r\n
