SECURITY FORCES KILINOCHCHI TROOPS JOIN CIVILIANS FOR SHARAMADANA CAMPAIGN
Troops of 571 Brigade area under Security Forces – Kilinochchi took part in a few social welfare projects with the close coordination of civilians living in those areas to build up the harmony and reconciliation and mutual understand among civilians and military personnel as well as the upgrade the iconic view of military among civilians.\r\n\r\nNearly 50 army personnel from 7th battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry, 9 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and 16 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry took part for these social wellbeing projects. During the period commenced from 20 to 25 April 2017. Troops have conducted shramadana campaign in Kanagapuram Maha Vidyalaya premises, Pullayar Kovil in Thiruvaiaru and also troops renovated the minor road running Araviyalnagar –SK Eldest Home at Kilinochchi. Both sides of the road were cleared while dilapidated sections of the road were patched to make it is motor able for the vehicles. Nearly 25 villagers assisted the troops during the Sharamadana campaign while appreciating the utmost assistance which was offered by the troops for benefits of the Kilinochchi people.
