KILINOCHCHI COMMANDER MAKES HIS FORMAL VISIT TO 57 DIVISION
The newly-appointed Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi, Major General A Kariyakarawana USP ndc visited the 57 Division Headquarters on 18 January 2017. This was the first formal visit of the Kilinochchi Commander to the under commanding 57 Division area after he has taken over duties as the Kilinochchi Commander.\r\n\r\nThe Commander was welcomed by the General Officer Commanding of 57 Division on arrival before a Guard Turnout at the entrance to the 57 Division. Subsequently, the General Officer Commanding - 57 Division briefed him on his area of responsibility at the conference hall.\r\n\r\nAs the next segment of the day\'s programme, Commander addressed the troops at the Nelumpiyasa auditorium and urged them to continue their training and good work while maintaining the highest standards of discipline at all levels. He also inquired into the facilities available for the troops inside the Divisional Admin Area - 57 Division.\r\n\r\nTowards the end of the day’s programme, Brigadier Athula Galagamage, General Officer Commanding, 57 Division invited the visiting Commander to plant a tree sapling at Divisional Admin Area and leave a complimentary remark in the Visitors’ book.\r\n\r\nGeneral Officer Commanding, 57 Division, Brigade Commanders in the 57 Division, officers and other ranks attended for the day’s programme.\r\n
