SECURITY FORCES - KILINOCHCHI AWARDED WAR HERO HASALAKA GAMINI KULARATHNE MEMORIAL SCHOLASRSHIPS FOR TWO STUDENTS
As per the concept of Major General K A D A Karunasekara RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc, Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi, two scholarship were awarded to selected two students of low income family from Hasalaka area, commemorating war hero Gamini Kularathne who is considered as a national hero who scarified his life for the sake of mother land in 1991 at Elephant Pass army base,. \r\n\r\nGamini Kularathne memorial scholarships are awarded to two students who followed G.C.E.Advanced Level at the school which Gamini Kularathne was educated. The worth of each scholarship is Rs. 5000.00 per month. Until the students select to the university education, the scholarships will be benefitted to the students to complete Advanced Level education successfully.\r\n\r\nThe scholarships awarding ceremony was held at Ranasinghe Premadasa Vidyalaya - Hasalaka on 11 January 2017. Meanwhile 50 book parcels were gifted to the students from Ranasingha Premadasa Vidyalaya. Colonel C K Handunmulla, Brigadier Admin and Quartering took the chair as the chief guest and awarded the certificates of scholarships to the selected students. Senior Military Officers, Mother of War Hero Gamini Kularathne, Director of Divisional Education - Hasalaka, teachers and students attended to the ceremony. The scholarship awarding ceremony was festooned by students while presenting various cultural dancing which presented to entertain the gathering.
