Annual Kovil Pooja ceremony of Marimuththu Amman Kovil in Malayalampuram was held on 3 August 2014 with the support of the 9 Vijayaba Infantry Regiment. Troops of 9 VIR rendered their fullest support for the ceremony from the beginning. Maj Gen S Ranasinghe RWP RSP ndu psc Commander SF(KLN), GOC of 57 Div, Brigade Commander of 571 Bde, Commanding Officer of 9 VIR attended the final Kovil pooja ceremony. Troops of 9VIR provided supper for the gathering of more than six hundred civilians.
In addition to that annual Kovil Pooja of Amman Kovil at Kariyalnagapadduwan in the area of 651 Bde was held from 31 July to 08 August 2014. Devotees from different areas reach here every day to witness and attend Kovil Pooja from the commencement of the ceremony and troops of 11 GR provided drinking water, accommodation for the devotees.
