POP OF 26 TAMIL WOMEN RECRUITS PASS OUT IN SF HQ (KLN)
As per direction given by the Secretary Ministry of Defence and Urban Development and the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, 26 Tamil recruits enlisted to 6 (V) SLAWC was pass out on 09 Aug 14 after completion of 04 months training at 6 (V) SLAWC.
Apart from military training, they acquired Sinhala, English language proficiency, computer literacy and knowledge on self employments. They visited many field trips to different areas in the country.
Trophies were awarded to the best overall performances as follows.
Best platoon commander - O/8349 Lt P P Fernando
Best platoon Sergeant - S/6R00103 Sgt Aluthgedara AGNP
Best section commander - S/6R00125 L/Cpl Samanmali WWG
Best physical fitness - S/79647 Rec Thuvaraka J
Best Recruit /Outstanding performance
of the course - S/79646 Rec Rubini MS
Four scooters were distributed among the selected recruits by the Comd SF KLN and Army tatoo (Dog Show, Stunt Riding, Vehicle/Bridge (Dismantle and Assembling), Band show) and cultural events took place at the Nelum Piyasa
GA (KLN) Mrs. Rupawathi Kethiswaran was the Chief Guest and Government Officials, Religious Leaders, Senior Officers of Army, Air Force, Police and about 2000 civilians were attended for the occasion and Refreshment/ Lunch were given to all participants.
