The huge vesak pandol was create for the second time with the technical support of troops in 11 sri lankan engineers serves regiment and with the financial contribution of troops and well wishers in this area. It has been scheduled to exhibit from 14 may 2014 to 16 may 2014 at the ground of kilinochchi central college in order to celebrate 2557 sambudda jayanthiya (2557 anniversary of buddha’s enlightenment). It displays the biography of king ashoka in a huge screen of 33 ft height and 30 ft width. Approximate 25000 bulbs where used for its decoration and this huge creation has become a reality with the innumerous support of the principal, kinochchi central college and the civilians in the area with the approximate expenditure of nine hundred thousand rupees.
02. A dansala, bhakthi geetha competition and vesak lantern competition will be held on the inauguration day of this pandol. Further people in kilinochchi will experience the pandol and its story in tamil language for the first time in their lives. The other important thing is distribution of vesak card printed in tamil to give them the opportunity to experience this function with their flavor.
03. There are 46 colorful vesak lanterns which were created for the competition will be display around the pandol on the same day. All the participants will be awarded as follows.
1st place - Rs. 20,000.00
2nd place - Rs. 15,000.00
3rd place- Rs. 10,000.00
