One more shelter for a low income family has received From the 2nd Battalion - Sri Lanka National Guard with the financial assistance of “Thalagala Sri Siddhartha Foundation” of Ven. Thalagala Sri Sumanarathana Nayake Thero. The handing over of the key of the house formally took place following a simple ceremony on 16 February 2019.
Aforesaid family who has been living in Jeyapuram area was identified as the suitable recipients by the 2nd Sri Lanka National Guards deployed under 663 Infantry Brigade and the requirement was projected to 66 Infantry Division. The house was constructed with the cost of approximately Rs. 457,500.00 from Sri Siddhartha Foundation. Troops of the 2nd Sri Lanka National Guard provided their technical assistance and skill labour for its construction under the supervision of 663 Infantry Brigade.
With the intention of uplifting the living standards of low income families in Kilinochchi area, the bestowing of house took place with the patronage of Brigadier Mangala Wijesundara, General Officer Commanding - 66 Infantry Division along with the Commander 663 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer, Officers and troops of 2 Sri Lanka National Guards and civilians. Beneficiary of the house was Mrs. Sadhiskaran Saraswathi.
