Commemorating the tree planting month the 20th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry troops conducted tree planting and distribution programme with the guidance and supervision of the Commanding Officer of the battalion Lt Col LTD Harshapriya RSP SLLI with the support of retired officer's society of Sri Lanka Army and Timber Corporation of Jaffna.
The ceremony was held at the headquarters of 20th SLLI Battalion with the participation of all officers and other rankers of the Battalion. Brigade commander 662 Infantry Brigade Col PR Pathirawitana psc, GSO 1 (ops) 66 division Lt Col KGMN Senaviratna USP SLAC, All commanding officers at 66 division, member of retired officers society of Sri Lanka Army Maj PR Edirisinghe RSP (rtd), Regional Manager Mr Subramaniyam Sri Sikandaraja and members of timber cooperation, Maduluwawe Sudarmarama Viharadipati Kaawya Embilipiliye Sri Subodhidhamma thero and civilians of area participated for the event.
The programme was windup with the the kavibana programme which was conducted by Maduluwawe Sudarmarama Viharadipati Kaawya Embilipiliye Sri Subodhidhamma thero.
