The Buddhists memorialize the significant life events of Lord Buddha on this Full Moon Poya Day. Memorializing the \'Themagula\', a “Vesak Zone\'\' has fashioned at Kilinochchi Central Collage play ground on 10 and 11 May 2017 .\r\n\r\nUnder the guidance of Commander Security Forces - Kilinochchi, Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana USP ndc and through the supervision of Senior Officers of Security Forces, the event was attractively organized by the troops, under the theme of\' \"Peaceful Vesak Asiriya for Kilinochchi people\".\r\n\r\nAs a Main affair among the grand event can be highlighted with displaying of remnants of Lord Buddha and the disciples, Danselas, Vesak devotional songs (Bakthi Gee), and colorful Vesak lanterns.\r\n\r\nIn the first day of “Kilinochchi Vesak Zone” Mr. Suntharam Arumainayaham, Government Agent – Kilinochchi and Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, Commander Security Forces - Kilinochchi graced the occasion as the chief guests and declared opened the Vesak zone which was made minds of devotees more religious. More than 20000 peoples were gathered to Kilinochchi playground without religious discrimination.\r\n\r\nIn the second day, Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi auspiciously declared opened the “Vesak Zone”. More than 25000 people in Kilinochchi district witnessed the Vesak Asiriya in second day and tasted the dansela which was offered by the troops and many Hindu devotees also gathered to witness the sacred relics of Lord Buddha and his devotees. SF Comd has distributed First–Aid boxes among pre-schools in Kilinochchi district.\r\n\r\nMajor General Duminda Keppetiwalana General Officer Commanding – 66 Division, Major General Sarath Weerawardena, and General Officer Commanding – 65 Division and Major General Jagath Gunawardena General Officer Commanding – 57 Division, Major General Bimal Vidanage Commander Forward Maintenance Area – Kilinochchi were the major organizers of this successful event.
