TROOPS DISTRIBUTED SHOES AMONG SCHOOL CHIDREN AND SPORTS CLUBS IN 66 DIVISION
Under the patronage of Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi Major General Amal Karunasekara RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc and with the supervision of Brigadier Duminda Kepptiwalana RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding - 66 Division and Colonel Kithsiri Ekanayake WWV RWP RSP - Commander 661 Brigade, a programme which distributing shoes among school children and sports club was held at Paramamkirai Government Tamil School on 10 January 2017 as a community assistance project to encourage the children to make full use of the opportunities made available to them in order to pursue their desire goal and contribute to becoming responsible citizens of our glorious nation.\r\n\r\nChildren from the age group 1 to 10 were presented with these shoes, needed for the new school years. Apart from that during the same event sports clubs in the area also benefited with the donated items.142 children of area were presented the shoe pairs and Wing Commander Sumit Amarasinghe (Retd) supported as unstinted donor for this charitable event.\r\n\r\nBrigadier Duminda Kepptiwalana RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding - 66 Division presided as chief guest and Colonel Kithsiri Ekanayake WWV RWP RSP - Commander 661 Brigade, many Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, members of Sport Clubs, teachers and parents together with children participated to the ceremony. At the end of the programme members of Sport Clubs, Teachers and parents compliments to military and they were heartedly appreciated and paid their humble gratitude towards the military.
