TROOPS ASSIST TO DOUSE FIRE OF PRIVATE OWNER SHOP AT NACHCHIKUDA
Troops of 19 Sri Lanka Light Infantry and 11 (V) Gajaba Regiment under command to 65 Division of Security Force - Kilinochchi took immediate steps to stop an unexpected fire broke out at private shop Nachchikuda at around 00:40 AM on 26 June 2017 as an assistance to public sector in emergency situation.\r\n\r\nAs immediate response to request made by Mulankavil Police Station, troops of 65 Division reached the place swiftly and managed to control the spreading fire despite strong winds that prevailed at that time. However, troops succeeded in extinguishing the entire fire under control by 35 minutes. \r\n\r\nMore than 40 Army personnel contributed to bring the fast spreading fire under control. Owner of the victimized shop and the residents were highly appreciated attempt made by the military personnel for their safety and they emphasized the situation as a symbol of communal unity and harmony between civilians and the military.
