TRAINING FOR TEACHERS IN KILINOCHCHI ON PERFORMING ARTS BY WORLD FAMOUS ACTRESS ANOJA WEERASINGHE
The principal trainer of Abhina Academy of Performing Arts and world renown actress Anoja Weerasinghe and the team conducted a workshop for teachers in Kilinochchi on Acting, Singing, Vocal Teqniques & Musicianship & to gain adequate confidence to progress from 20 to 27 March 2013.
Aim of the programme is to assist individuals to develop creativity, personality, leadershipskills and helping thembecome socially sensitive and responsibleindividuals through Art and developing their inborn talents through propertraining and encouragement not only through performing arts, but also through exposure to technical skills as well. Involvement in the field of arts had been proven to heal psychologicalpain. Through art, individuals learn to confront and release their traumatic past, build self-confidence and grow physically, spiritually and psychologically as part of a contemporary community.
The team selected 15 talented and potential young girls in music arena out of fourty five, to enhance their singing skills. Anoja Weerasinghe, one time world famous actress who won many international awards and played the main character in more than 125 Sri Lankan movies undertiook training these 15 young girls for the singing competition to be held on 11 April 2013 in Kilinochchi.
Zonal education Director and Army assisted the event with required facilities.
