T RASANAYAGAM MEMORIAL FOOTBALL TOURNAMENT ENDS

Under the supervision of Major General Vijitha Ravipriya, Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi, 57 Division organized T Rasanayagam Memorial Football Tournament consecutively second time with the participation of 36 regional football teams in Kilinochchi District. 571 Brigade and 7th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry made tremendous effort to organize the tournament on behalf of the 57 Division.

The opening match of the tournament was graced by the Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi on 28 March 2019 and 34 matches were held in following days at Paravipanjaan Football Ground.

The final match of the tournament was kicked off at 1830 hour on 6 April 2019 at Paravipanjaan Football Ground with the presence of Major General Vijitha Ravipriya, Commander Security Forces (Kilinochchi), Major General Wasantha Kumarapperuma, General Officer Commanding 65 Division and Commander 571 Brigade. Sri Lanka Mobitel extended the sponsorships for the prizes for the winners and the runners up. Udaya Tharukei team won the match with score of 1-0. Large number of football fans in Kilinochchi area gathered to Paravipanjan play ground to witness the match.
