A group of 46 Officer Cadets from Intake- 88 who are undergoing military training at the Sri Lanka Military Academy (SLMA) made a visit to Security Force Headquarters Kilinochchi on 03 and 04 September 2020, as a part of their familiarization module to Army organization.
Major General Sampath Kotuwegoda ndc IG, Commander, Security Forces – Kilinochchi, warmly welcomed them to the Security Force Headquarters Kilinochchi, and had an interaction session with the Officer Cadets at Officers Mess premises with other Staff Officers of SFHQ KLN in their arrival evening.
Next day, General Staff Officer I, Ops and Trg of Security Force Headquarters Kilinochchi presented a comprehensive briefing on the history and significance of Kilinochchi, role and tasks, and responsibilities of the SFHQ Kilinochchi, and the efforts taken by the military to develop the livelihoods of the people to enhance the government's nation building mechanism in Kilinochchi in the post-conflict scenario. At their departure, the Officer Cadets presented a memento to Commander, Security Forces – Kilinochchi, symbolizing their courtesy.
On their way to Jaffna, they paid their respect to the Corporal Gamini Kularatne (Hasalaka Gamini) monument at Elephant Pass with a comprehensive briefing arranged by CO 9 SLSR.
