The direction given by General Officer Commander 65 Div, 652 Bde and under command battalion organized cleaning irrigation channel Akkarayankulam tank to Konavil area about 3.5 Km on 02 Oct 18. The brigade Commander of 652 Brigade Brigadier Wanditha Mahinkanda gave prime assistance to the troops to coordinate with civilian for betterment of their livelihood. The 10 Officers and 170 Other Ranks were participated this Sramadana campaign and mainly organized this event by 7th Sri Lanka National Guard Battalion.
The President and Secretary of Farmers Society in Akkarayankulam village also participated this cleaning project. In addition to that 81 farmers and Technical Officer of Irrigation Office Akkarayankulam joined with 6 workers for this mega event. They were well cooperate with troops and provided two tractors other equipment which were required. Further, 7th Sri Lanka National Guard Battalion gave refreshment and lunch for all participant and 651 under 11 (V) Gajaba Regiment organized sharamadana campaign in Mulankavil Government Hospital and outside of the premises .further provide packet of meals for civilians.
