SFHQ - KILINOCHCHI CELIBRATES ITS TENTH ANNEVERSARY WITH SERIES OF EVENTS

A Pirith chanting ceremony organized by the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi on 26 June 2019 invoked blessings on all officers and men serving in SF HQ KLN on the 10th Anniversary of the Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi. On the directions of Major General G V Ravipriya WWV RWP ndu IG, Commander, Security Forces – Kilinochchi series of events were organized.

Maha sanga from Madukanda maha Vihara were conducted in a vivid perahara in a traditional way and were accomadated in a nicely crafted pirith chanting octagon for pirith chanting ceremony.

The Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi in keeping with ancient traditions, afterwards offered the tray of betel to members of the Maha Sangha, inviting them to commence their chanting until the following morning.

Troops on the following morning offered alms to Maha Sangha and concluded the ceremony. General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, many Officers and Other Ranks participated in the religious ceremonies.

Meanwhile, a special Hindu Pooja, held at Iranamadu Kankagambigai Amman Kovil on 27 Evening invoked blessings on the 10th anniversary of the Security Force Headquarters –Kilinochchi.

On next day morning (28), all officers, other ranks and civil employers at the Security Force Headquarters attended an Islamic religious prayer session at Jumma Mosque in Kilinochchi.

Meanwhile, a Catholic Mass organized by the troops of the Security Force Headquarters Kilinochchi at St Theresa Church, Kilinochchi on 28 invoked blessings on the 10th anniversary of the Security Force Headquarters- Kilinochchi.

Those religious programmes invoked blessings on military personnel and merits on those who sacrificed their lives for the motherland and those still receiving treatment.

Major General G V Ravipriya WWV RWP ndu IG Commander, SFHQ - KLN received a Guard Turnout salute and a Guard of Honour accoded by the 8 Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment troops as part of the arrangements On 29 June 2019 to remark the SFHQ day.

The Commander posed for a group photograph and planted a sapling in the camp premises to mark the SFHQ day and sat with all ranks for the lunch.
