As per the concept of Commander of Security Force - Kilinochchi, Major General Niyshshanka Ranawana, the ‘Herculean Competition’ to select the strongest battalion in Kilinochchi area was held on 17 Oct 18 at Paravipanchan Public Playground.
Herculean competition consisted with series of games. At the first session 34 of under command battalions fought at the Division level. Among them 07 battalions fought at the Paravipanchan Public Playground for the trophy. The competition consisted with attractive 06 events as follows;
Pushing a Truck - 100 m (Switched Off)
Carrying 25 x Water Cans - 100 m (20 L per Can)
Carrying 25 x Sand Bags - 100 m (20 Kg per Bag)
Rolling Three Tractor Tyers - 100 m
Four Members Carrying the Complete Team on Shoulders - 100 m
Relay - 9 x 100 m
The 11th Battalion of Gajaba Regimen team won the trophy of strongest battalion of the Security Forces - Kilinochchi earning 8.974 scores while 20th Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment team won the runner up trophy earning 7.601 scores.
The Commander, Security Forces – Kilinochchi gave away trophies and certificates to the winning and runners up teams. Commander, Forward Maintenace Area - Kilinochchi, General Officer Commanding of 57 Division, and 65 Division also accompanied with the Chief Guest. Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks attended in the event.
