SECURITY FORCES KILINOCHCHI INITIATES FREE DISTRIBUTION OF SPECTACLES FOR NEEDY CIVILIANS
66 Division continued its public welfare projects for the needy people in Poonaryn by supplying spectacles and conducting ophthalmic clinic during a brief ceremony on 10 December 2017 at the Kiranchi Government Tamil Mixed School in Poonaryn according to the vision of Commander Security Forces – Kilinochchi, Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana USP ndc and under the guidance of Major General Duminda Keppetiwalana RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding 66 Division. \r\n\r\nThe Donation programme was sponsored by the Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society with the invitation of Commander 663 Brigade Brigadier Subhasana Welikala WWV RSP USP. During the programme, 398 selected people with poor vision were offered spectacles after they were examined for vision on same day by Consultant Ophthalmologist Dr. Ajantha Abeywardena and his medical team.\r\n\r\nEnd of the donation programme 38 personnel were voluntarily give their last will to donate eyes after their deaths to the Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society as it is a great helping process.\r\n\r\nMajor General Ajith Kariyakarawana USP ndc, Commander, SFHQ-KLN, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Major General Duminda Keppetiwalana RSP ndu psc, General Officer Commanding 66 Division, Brigadier Subhasana Welikala WWV RSP USP Commander - 663 Brigade Mr. E M H B Moragaswewa, Chairman - Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society, Mr. D C Trishan, Treasurer - Sri Lanka Eye Donation Society, Senior Officers, and state officials attended the event.\r\n
