SECURITY FORCES KILINOCHCHI CELEBRATES NEW YEAR FESTIVAL
On the concept of Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi, Sinhala and Hindu New Year Festival got underway on 17 April 2015 at Security Force Headquarters premises with the participation of Officers, Other ranks and their families.\r\n\r\nOfficers and Other Ranks of Security Force Headquarters organized a Bodhi Pooja to invoke blessings for a prosperous New Year followed by a giveaway of gift parcels and meal packets to children of Karunanilayam Children\'s Home in order to share happiness and joy. \r\n\r\nMany traditional games and fun making events were organized during the festival including Visiting Relations, Raban Playing, and Weaving Coconut Fronds, Pillow Fighting, Blowing of Balloons, Tug of War and cultural dance by \"Sath Ranga\" dancing team. Winners of New Year games were awarded with prizes and gift packs were given away to civil employees in appreciation of their valuable service. Concluding New Year celebrations, all members enjoyed colourful musical show conducted at the same night. \r\n \r\nThe New Year festival was remarkable as Indian students and teachers graced the celebrations as guests. Senior Officers, Officers, Other ranks and their families attended the event.\r\n
