SECURITY FORCE KILINOCHCHI INNOVATION EXHIBITION - 2018

Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi organized an Exhibition to showcase the innovations of soldier’s on 28 May 2018 at ‘Nelum Piyasa’ Auditorium at Kilinochchi. Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi organized this event under the direction of AHQ and with the close supervision of Research Analysis Projection & Development Branch, AHQ.

The exhibition with full of new innovations was declared open by Major General Niyshshanka Ranawana, Commander Security Forces – Kilinochchi as the chief guest and General Officer Commanding 57 Division, Major General Vijitha Ravipriya, General Officer Commanding 65 Division, Major General Kumara Peiris, Commander Forward Maintenance Area, Brigadier Indrajith Vidyananda, General Officer Commanding 66 Division, Brigadier Deepthi Jayatilaka, Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers, Officers, several Government Officials, teachers, civilians and over 200 school students participated at the in the event.

The exhibition was launched with the objectives of unearthing new inventors among the soldiers and to spread the importance of innovation to others. Dr. P Iyngaran, Senior Lecturer, Department of Chemistry Jaffna University, Dr. E Y A Charles Senior Lecturer, Dept of Computer Science Jaffna University, Col S D Udayasena RSP SLLI Colonel (Head of Tech Div) Research Analysis Projection & Development Branch, AHQ were among the panel of judges for the competition.

During the Certificate awarding ceremony Commander Security Forces – Kilinochchi appreciated the efforts of Officers and Other Ranks for their innovations and contribution extended to make the event a success and he congratulated those who won merit for there findings.

S/368320 Cpl Fonseka GCCR RSP belongs to 4 Sri Lanka Singhe Regiment came first for his ‘Laser Plumb Bob’, S/16D00294 Cpl Nuwan Kumara WV belongs to 16 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry won the second place for his ‘Prevention of Animal Threats Electronic Green Box’ and S/6R00326 L/Cpl Nishanthi JCI from 6 (V) Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps came third place for her ‘Sanitary Pad Burner’.
