SECURING OF SCHOOL PREMISSES IN KILLINOCHCHI DISTRICT BY SECURITY FORCE KILINOCHCHI

In line with Education Ministry declaration to reopen schoolson 6 May 19 for the second school term, Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi, Major General GV Ravipriya WWV RWP ndu IG, directed all Divisional Commanders to establish proper security of all Schools within their responsible areas in liaison with Police, Zonal Educational Office, Principals and Vigilant Committees.

Accordingly, General Officer Commanding 57 Division Brigadier A S Hewawitharana RSP USP ndc IG, General Officer Commanding 65 Division, Major General K A W Kumarapperuma USP and General Officer Commanding 66 Division, Brigadier M D Wijesundara RSP made arrangements to secure 73 schools belong to Kilinochchi and part of Mullaitivu districts that come under area of responsibility of Security Forces Headquarters, Kilinochchi respectively.

Troops of all Divisions involved in the search and clear operations since, 05 May 19 and established surveillance until the commencement of the Schools on 06 May 19. Further, stand sentries, mobile patrols and foot patrols are being conducted to ensure secured environment for school children to attend their studies without any hassle.
