RELEASING OF JUVENILE FISH TO IRANAMADU TANK

Major General GV Ravipriya WWV RWP ndu IG, the Commander Security Forces (Kilinochchi) initiated a programme to increase fishing harvest by releasing of juvenile fish into the Iranamadu tank in order to uplift the living standard of the villagers residing in the close proximity of the Iranamadu Tank.

Second stage of this programme was conducted by 573 Brigade under the supervision of the 57 Division on 20 April 2019 at Iranamadu tank with the assistance of National Aquaculture Development Authority (NAQDA) and in the presence of Major General GV Ravipriya, the Commander Security Forces (Kilinochchi), Mr. Nuwan Prasantha Madawan Arachchi, Chairmen National Aquaculture Development Authority of Sri Lanka (NAQDA) & his staff, fishing community and Senior Officers of the Army. Another 50,000 Juvenile fish were released in to the Iranamadu tank.

The chairman NAQDA expressed his willingness to further extend his fullest support to develop fishing activities with novel techniques in the area as well. Villagers highly appreciated Military commitments and the NAQDA support during their thanking speech.
