With the directions of officiating General Officer Commanding 65 Division, Brigadier DMHD Bandara RWP RSP USP and under the supervision of Commander 652 Brigade, a project of planting Kohomba sapling at Hindu temples in 652 Brigade AOR commenced on 27 January 2020. In the first stage of the project, over 100 Kohomba saplings were planted at 17 Hindu temples in 7 SLNG TAOR. This project is to enhance the public relationship, developing of mutual cooperation and to win the hearts and mind of the community.
Main programme on this regard was held at Pilleyar temple at Akkarayankulam with the participation of officiating General Officer Commanding 65 Division, Brigadier DMHD Bandara RWP RSP USP, Commander 652 Brigade, Col WLAC Perera RWP RSP USP, offices and Other Ranks of 7SLNG, DMO Akkarayankulam hospital, Chief priest of Akkarayankulam Pillayar kovil and many devotees were also participated to the programme.
