With the directions of General Officer Commanding 65 Division, Major General DMHD Bandara RWP RSP USP, and under the supervision of Commander 652 Brigade, a project of planting Kohomba sapling in Hindu Kovils in Brigade area commenced on 27 January 2020. As a second stage of the project, which took placed on 03 February 2020, over 100 Kohomba (Margosa) saplings were planted in 14 Hindu Kovils in 20 (V) VIR area. This project is to enhance the public relationship, developing of mutual cooperation and to win the hearts and mind of the civil community.
Main programme on this regard was held at Amman Kovil at Skandapuram with the participation of Commander 652 Brigade Colonel WLAC Perera RWP RSP USP, Civil Affairs Officer 652 Brigade, officers and other ranks of 20 (V) VIR and 7 SLNG, Grama Niladhari Skandapuram, Priest of Skandapuram Amman Kovil and many devotees also participated in the programme.
