One shelter for low income family was constructed by 18 (V) Gajaba Regiment (Previously deployed in 66 Division AOR) and the handing over of the key was formally taken place on Sunday (20) following a simple ceremony.
Aforesaid poor family, living in the Kumarapuram area (General area Paranthan) has been recognized by the troops of 18 (V) Gajaba Regiment of 662 Brigade. The house was constructed with the financial assistance of “Thalagala Sri Siddhartha Foundation” of Ven Thalagala Sri Sumanarathana Nayake Thero coordinated by Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, former Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi. The 18 (V) Gajaba Regimen troops were able to provide the workforce to construction this house and later handed over to 1 Gajaba Regiment troops for its completion.
With the pure intention of uplifting the living standards of low income families in Kilinochchi, the bestowing of the house took place with the patronage of Brig MangalaWijesundara, General Officer Commanding – 66 Infantry Division along with the Commander 662 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer and troops of 1 Gajaba Regiment, Officers and a gathering of civilians. The beneficiary of the house was Mrs. Subramaniyam Rajini.
