A PIGEON RACING COMPETITION ORGANIZED BY 57 DIVISION

Pigeon Racing Competition organized by 57 Division with the collaboration of Colombo Racing Pigeon Association and it was held at Kilinochchi Central College playground at 0800 hour on 17 February 2019.

The General Officer Commanding of 57 Division, Major General Vijitha Ravipriya and the Commander, 571 Brigade graced the ceremony of the race by releasing the pigeons from the cages on the invitation made by the Deputy President and members of the Colombo Racing Pigeon Association.

It was very important event since most of the youths living in rural villages in Kilinochchi District are involving in pigeon sports and these kinds of events will enable to keep those unemployed youths with a busy schedule.

As per the result obtained by the evening on the same day the association confirmed that 214 pigeons returned at their owners place after flying more than 280 Km out of 241 that were released in the morning.
