OUTGOING COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES KILINOCHCHI WAS PRAISED WITH FORMAL CELEBRATIONS

Major General KNS Kotuwegoda ndc IG has relinquished the appointment of Commander Security Force Kilinochchi after completing 6 months of reckonable services to the Security Forces Headquarters Kilinochchi on 20 February 2021. Formal military ceremony was organized to appreciate his services rendered to this Headquarters as a Commander Security Forces Kilinochchi.

A ceremonial Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour, presented by troops of 8th Medium Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery serving under the Security Force Kilinochchi greeted the outgoing Commander on arrival at the premises in keeping with military traditions.

Thereafter, the outgoing Commander placed his signature in a formal document to symbolize the relinquishment of office. Then he posed for a group photographs with under command formation commanders and staff of Security Forces Headquarters Kilinochchi.

Before the all ranks tea, all Officers and Other Ranks were formally addressed at the Nelum piyasa auditorium by the outgoing Commander to commend the excellent service and constant support given by all officers and other rankers during his tenure and requested the same to be extended in future.

Soon after the event, modernized new welfare building complex, consists of a fully equipped comfortable rooms, fresh juice shop and shopping stoles, long-felt needs at Iranamadu Junction in Kandy Jaffna main road (A 09) was declared opened by the Commander SF KLN.

The facility complex, constructed under the directions of the Commander Security Force Kilinochchi and close supervision of Commanding Officers of 8th Medium Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery Lieutenant Colonel Sanjeewa Darmarathne and 9 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Lieutenant Colonel shaminda wijesinghe.

The day's Chief Guest Commander, SF-KLN unveiled a plaque and cut a ribbon before he warmed the complex. Afterwards, Commander, SF-KLN had an interaction session with accompanied officers of each units, scrutinizing entire facility complex, equipped with modern facilities. Moreover, the facility is declared open for general public in reasonable price.

Meantime, Commander appreciated the commitment of 11 Engineer services Regiment troops who built this complex and troops of 8th Medium Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery and 9 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment for extending their fullest support to complete the project.

As the final event, farewell dinner was held at the Officers’ Mess with the participation of all General Officer Commanding, Commander Forward Maintenance Area Kilinochchi, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, senior officers and officers.
